Racheal

All Wishes

When you talk with Racheal about going to Give Kids the World, she flashes a million dollar smile. Although she is non-verbal, you can tell she is excited about the upcoming trip.

After three trips to Give Kids the World had to be postponed (1 due to being sick and 2 due to a hurricane and then Covid) and five years, Racheal finally had her wish completed. Although, not her original wish, she received a handicapped accessible glider for her back yard. She loves swinging (gliding) with her parents, Aunt Sharon and her nurses. A small celebration was held on 9/15/24 to celebrate Racheal’s wish.
A GIANT SHOUT OUT to JJ and his crew from Robertson Concrete LLC for providing the materials and labor for the cement pad that needed to be placed. Also a huge thank you to Steve Williams for coordinating all of the work that needed to be done. He and Wyatt Hayes worked together on one of the hottest days of the summer to assemble the glider. Wish Grantor Beth and her sisters Mary Stahler and Theresa Waechter worked to fill in dirt around the cement pad. It was determined that a professional needed to finish the final grading and do the seeding, and for this we owe a thank you to Ben Miller. This project would not have been completed without the help and work of all of these people, but also not without the company that made the glider – Whisper Glide from Salem, South Carolina.
Racheal now has something that she can enjoy for many years to come. She is such a sweetie with a million dollar smile!
