Diagnosed at a young age with a rare condition that causes multiple tumors in his brain, Ethan has been through so much . . . and his condition is progressive. Among many things that have been taken from him, including ability to walk independently and hear . . . one thing that will never be taken is his strength and stamina to remain as independent as he can be. Because he wants to hear everything in "real time," he has an app on his phone that types in the words that people are saying so he can understand and voice his thoughts and needs. His wish was to GO SAILING. After we completed his sister's wish at Give Kids the World, the family headed over to Clearwater for his big adventure. To help him maintain his independence as much as possible, we rented a power scooter and powered beach wheelchair that he was captivated by, loving every minute on the beach.
