Ryder was first diagnosed with cancer in March of 2017. He has spent several years undergoing several rounds of chemo and a surgery which left him non-verbal for a time. He has regained his verbal communications. Ryder's wish was to go to Disney World with his family, which includes his two younger brothers. The family decided that Christmas 2023 was the time to go and surprised the boys on Christmas morning with the information that they would be leaving for Disney in 2 days. Ryder and his brothers were very excited to go and they had a wonderful time. Ryder's mother said, "We are so thankful for Wishes Can Happen for making this possible!" It is a trip that the family will remember for years to come.
